Alessandra D'Alessio & Alyssa Vani , the architect of the award winning project Alessandra D'Alessio & Alyssa Vani 's braille blocks toy explicates, Braille blocks is a children’s toy that allows blind or visually impaired toddlers to understand what surfaces and textures correspond with certain words. Each braille block set comes with 10 wooden blocks, each covered in a unique texture. The word used to describe the texture is written in braille & in print on the top of each block. The set comes with a wooden box for storage in addition to a removable, interactive wood mat for matching. Toddlers will be able to interact with everyday textures and learn how to identify them. .
